About the Artist

Hello, my name is Chanelle! I'm a service dog handler, artist and skilled seamstress.I'm a lupus warrior! But I don't let that get in the way of my creative pursuits.I started this business in 2022 to help fill a niche market with my own creative flare! I think as service dog handlers we deserve to make sure our dogs look their best while on duty. Be it pretty or professional, I've got you covered.I'm a quick learner and very adaptable at my craft. I'm always trying new things when I can to improve my work and broaden my creative horizons!

I'm a proud black woman, a lesbian, and am supported by my very hard working and dedicated partner, Mars ♥ We run an LGBTQ+ friendly business as we believe there is no place for hate! All walks of life are welcome here, as a proud non-discriminatory business!

Pretty Paws Price Guide

Here is a basic price guide for our dog gear. Please email us to get the most accurate quote for your order. Thank you!

Plastic buckles available in all colors below, for no extra charge. All other hardware is available in the following finishes: silver, rose gold, black metal, gold, and light gold. Specialty metals and will incur a price increase to the project.

Vests & Capes

Vests are stand alone garments that go over the dog's shoulders. These are most commonly worn by service dogs, but can be customized to say whatever you'd like.Capes are similar, but are designed to attach to a harness and cannot be used as a stand alone accessory. There is no price difference between these two items.All of our vests and capes are typically made from canvas material, and are usually accented with cotton fabric material on the center panel. The color of the canvas fabric, text on the pockets, patterned fabric design are all included in the base price of our vests / capes. Accessory D rings are also included on every vest / cape for no additional price.Pockets increase price of the project. They can be pouch style, Velcro closure, or zipper closure pockets.We can design a vinyl graphic for the center panel if you prefer that over the printed fabric design. This will increase price of the project.As well as vinyl work, we also offer fully dye sublimation printed vests. These are ideal for complex full color vest designs that simply cannot be translated faithfully to vinyl. We offer graphic design services standard for this process, but if you'd like to have your own design printed please feel free to email us for a special quote and guidance for how to design your graphics for us to print.

Y Front Harnesses & Hybrid Capes

Y front harnesses are a type of dog harness that runs above the dog's shoulders, under their chest, and attaches around the ribcage. This design is very popular for larger dogs, and has the added appeal of the option of mobility and grounding handles.Our Y front harnesses are made with polypropylene webbing, and lined with the marine vinyl. Harnesses can be made with any of the various plastic buckle color options depicted in our price guide. All other hardware on the harness will be metal.Hybrid Capes functionally are identical to our y front and cape sets. The only thing that sets them apart is that the cape is sewn directly onto the harness to create a seamless single unit of working dog gear.

Collars

Our collars come in two varieties at this time. 1" width for small, medium and large dog breeds, and 1.5" width for large and extra large dog breeds. We will, however, happily made any width you prefer for your dog, regardless of their breed size.At our base rate, collars come complimentary with a metal tri-glide, plastic buckle in any of the colors in our chart above, and a coordinating metal D ring.We offer custom vinyl monogramming for our collars and bandanas for an additional fee.

Leashes

Leashes come in a variety of options and lengths, to help better manage your needs as a dog handler.Traffic leashes are designed to create a short distance handle to manage your dog in tight situations where you'd want to keep them closer to you. They are often attached to a collar or harness to be used most effectively. They are a traditional leash handle, with a lobster style claw attachment.We make traditional style dog leashes as well, in 3 foot, 4 foot, and 5 foot varieties.We also offer hands free leashes, a type of adjustable lead that fastens around the handlers torso to allow them to freely use both of their hands while out and about with their canine companion.

All of our leashes come with metal hardware. Some hardware options may incur an additional cost. Specify when getting a quote if you'd like a metal hardware other than our traditional silver, rose gold, black, or gold.

We currently have three methods we currently use for clients to inquire about custom orders. Our preferred method is email. It's nicely organized, there are time stamps and it allows for us to access it from all of our devices easily.

Designing your Product

How we make sure our craft matches your vision!

Before we start work on any of our clients projects, we provide digital mock up images of the design of your vest, collar, bandana or otherwise. This ensures that we understand your vision perfectly, and that we are able to craft your product with the least amount of revisions or wasted material.Knowing exactly how your product is going to turn out streamlines the process for everyone! Sometimes when we see the idea in our mind, it doesn't translate exactly how we imagined it would in reality. This is what our digital mock ups are for. We strive to produce a product that you'll immediately fall in love with once it arrives, and because of this we will not start on your project until you have approved our digital mock up. If the client delays approval on all digital files, this can delay production of their product and potential deadlines may be missed as a result of lack of communication.Once you have approved of the digital preview and reviewed materials being used for your project, we will be ready to start on your order! If you have already approved all materials and product design, you may not request any revisions after this stage. Once production starts we will create your order with all design elements and materials we have pre-approved.We do not offer digital mock up services for free. We only offer them to paying customers. To avoid us doing any unpaid labor, our graphic design artist will only do work for orders that have already been paid for. We do not currently offer gear designs for clients outside of PrettyPawsGear at this time. Thank you for understanding ♥

Making Payment

How to pay for your new product!

We currently offer two methods of payment for our services:We can make a custom listing for you through our Etsy storefront. While this is the quickest and most streamline method of paying for your order, is also subjects the buyer to Etsy's storefront fees.Alternatively, we do offer a private invoicing service through Square. We can send the invoice to any email you'd like! Shipping is calculated before we send you your invoice, as shipping is NOT included in our quote. We can ship whatever priority you prefer, so long as it's through USPS. Square also allows for us to accept tips for our custom orders! It's by no means required, but it's a a kind gesture to thank us for all of our hard work.At this time, we are only offering orders outside of the United States through Etsy. Should this change, we will update our website accordingly. How to Measure

These are important measurements to help us make sure your custom gear fits your dog accurately upon arrival.

Failure to measure your dog correctly may result in poorly fitting gear or at worst, gear that is completely unusable for you and your dog. Please be absolutely certain your measurements are correct and do not be afraid to ask us for assistance when measuring your dog.Incorrect measurements are not at fault of PrettyPawsGear staff. If the gear does not fit your dog but matches the the measurements provided to us at the time of ordering we will not remake the gear for free.

Measurement A is the neck measurement.

This is typically where you would like to position the collar on your dog's neck. This measurement will be the entire circumference of the dog's neck.

Measurement B is the shoulder measurement.

For this measurement, start from between the dog's shoulder blades and continue to the breastbone of the dog and stop. This is the shoulder measurement. Do not measure the full circumference of the dog. It will create a false measurement for us and the gear will not fit the dog correctly upon arrival.

Measurement C is the chest measurement.

For this measurement, start from the brestbone of the dog, continue between the front legs and stop at the end of the ribcage, right behind the front legs. It should line up where the shoulder straps and the ribcage strap connect on the dog. Please view the diagram for the "C" measurement for visual clarification.

Measurement D is the ribcage measurement.

This measurement should be the circumference of the largest part of your dog's ribcage. Start between the shoulder blades and continue around the entire circumference of the dog, circling back around to the dog's ribcage.

Measurement E is the waist measurement.

The waist measurement of the dog should be taken at the dog's natural "tuck" or right before the the hind legs. This is another circumference measurement.

Below are our terms of service. By doing business with PrettyPawsGear you are agreeing to the following terms regardless of if you have read this policy or not. Our terms are in place to protect both our artists and clients, as well as their furry companions.Our terms of service are subject to change without warning at any time.Thank you for taking the time to read our terms of service policy!

Working with PrettyPawsGear

PrettyPawsGear withholds the right to deny or cancel service at any time for any reason.
We have a zero tolerance policy for harassment. Poor treatment of all artists at PrettyPawsGear will result in termination of your order.We do not produce any hateful imagery of any any kind.
Bigotry is not tolerated in our business. We will not print or craft material portraying any racist, homophobic, xenophobic, or harmful imagery or phrasing of any kind.By ordering any service dog gear you are agreeing that your dog meets the appropriate state or federal guidelines for a service dog.
We are not responsible for any clients purchasing service dog gear to mislabel their dog. If you are found falsely labeling your dog as a service animal we will refuse our services. While we are happy to produce products for any dog for any purpose, mislabeling a service dog is a federal crime and we will not enable such practices.All digital media produced by PrettyPawsGear art team is for use exclusively by PrettyPawsGear.
Clients do not have full design rights to any digital media we create, and as such if the client would like any of our work produced it must be produced by us exclusively.Re-selling of our finished products is permissible. Client agrees that they may only list our products for the original price it retailed for. Scalping of our products to sell as a profit is a violation of our terms of service and is grounds for blacklisting from all future services or purchases of our work.

Payment & Refunds

Full payment is due before the start of any project. This includes our digital mock up/artwork portion of the transaction. No artwork, services, or products will be exchanged until all invoices have been paid in full. All payments are to made in USD (United States Dollar). Shipping is calculated for each individual order and is not included in our base pricing and rates.While a reasonable amount of revisions are included with your purchase, excessive requests for revisions or revisions requested at inappropriate times (example: after the design has already been approved) may be subject to a fee. This fee is to be determined by PrettyPawsGear at the time of service. Failure to acknowledge and/or pay this fee may result in denial of the requested revisions, or possible cancellation of the project.Refunds for finished products are not available at this time. Once the product has arrived at its intended destination in the agreed upon condition, the order is no longer eligible for a refund.If the client received the product and is unhappy with the condition of the product upon arrival, a refund will be negotiated between PrettyPawsGear and the client.
We withhold the right to have the final say in determining the terms of a refund for disappointed customers.Possible refund denial qualifications listed below, but not limited to:
Washing of service dog prospect, goods damaged during post, client disapproving of design after already approving photographs before delivery, lost packages or stolen packages, poorly measured dogs resulting in gear not fitting once delivered, dog outgrowing measurements provided at the time of ordering, incorrect or incomplete mailing address.This list is not exhaustive. Refund eligibility is determined by PrettyPawsGear and is non-negotiable.If determined that we are at fault for the quality or usability of the product, we will repair or re-make the order at no charge, as well as cover postage.
Refund is not an option unless we fail to deliver your product within our quoted deadline.
Client must return faulty items to us to qualify for replacement or refund of order. Product must be unused or in like-new condition to be eligible for a refund. If the garment looks obviously worn or used we will deny your refund request.

Proper Use & Care of Product

Proper care of our gear ensures that your product is guaranteed to function for a minimum of 12 months from the date of delivery. If your product is damaged under warranty please contact us immediately to discuss our free repair service.Proper use of product requires that your gear is cared for and maintained by our care guide. This means that all gear will be hand washed with cold water and gentle detergent, and laid flat to dry. Our gear is not designed to withstand machine washing at this may damage seams or vinyl. If you put your product in a machine washer or dryer, or clean product with harsh chemicals or hot water, we are not responsible for any damages that occur during this cleaning procedure.Our gear is not intended for work in dirty or wet environments. We use materials that may absorb water and should be used, kept and stored in a dry environment. Please store garments flat or fold loosely as to prevent wrinkles and protect longevity of the product.Our gear is not rated for lifting human or dog weight of any kind. Using our gear to hoist, carry, or lift handler or dog is a violation of our terms and will violate your warranty. Misuse of our gear resulting in injury of handler or dog is not our responsibility.Our gear is not rated for heavy mobility. It is not orthopedic vet reviewed. Please use at your own risk. To ensure safety of your animal please have your veterinarian review your gear and advise for safety and proper use.

Damaged Product Policy

Our warranty covers reasonable damages to our product for up to one year. If seams pop, vinyl separates, or portions of the product unravel preventing use of the product we are happy to repair them at no cost to the client. Our products are intended to be useable for up to one year minimum. After 12 months from date of delivery, we offer repairs for little to no cost depending on the severity of the damage.Poor maintenance of product will void your warranty. Please review our proper gear care instructions to protect the longevity of your product. We do not repair or replace irresponsibly handled gear for free.All repairs on our gear must be done in our studio in order to maintain warranty and ensure quality of repair. Unauthorized repairs done outside of our studio may potentially violate our terms of service and void product warranty. Please confirm with us before altering your gear in any way.

Canceled Order Policy

Order cancellation is up to the discretion of PrettyPawsGear. We do not accept canceled orders due to client financial struggles or their personal obligations. Dogs perishing or service dogs washing from service work are not appropriate qualifications for an order cancellation. We can make small modifications to gear design to accommodate service dog career termination but we will not provide a refund or cancel of order.We do not accept "a change of heart" or "a change of mind" as an appropriate reason to cancel an order. Do not place an order you do not intent to commit to, as we do not produce refunds for a client simply changing their mind.Order cancellations are reserved for clients who's orders miss our agreed deadline.
